Hello all - happy Thursday!

Today we:

  • started to learn about using whole numbers in estimation! We talked about why estimation is useful, strategies we can use to estimate and did some questions together as a class.
    • Tomorrow, we will practice some questions with estimating sums (estimation with adding).
  • continued to work towards finishing up our Wetland Creatures stories/artwork - many students are done typing the good copies of their stories and working on the artwork part of this project.
  • finished our read-aloud novel - The Jumbies! We have been reading this novel for about 6 weeks! It was very suspenseful and students worked hard to make predictions during the story, and also, we sketched/took key points down for each chapter as we worked on determining importance.
    • Next, we will work on creating (and recording on FlipGrid) our own novel reviews!
  • also had gym today!
  • continued to finish up both our social studies natural resources tasks and our science wetlands adaptations tasks (both tasks can be found on google classroom for more information).
Reminders:
  • Book Fair - starting November 22nd! Please see Mrs. Brinson's email regarding this - or Monday's/Tuesday's Blog posts for more information!
